The AAU Membership year runs from September 1st to August 31st.
AAU Membership is required to participate in all AAU sanctioned events.

Sanctioning Events - Any Club wishing to host an AAU sanctioned event, other than practice, will need to join as a Club Level 2 or 3.

$300.00 - Youth Club Per Membership Year
$320.00 - Adult Club or Both Youth and Adult Club / Per Membership Year
Level 3 is only for unincorporated clubs and has the same benefits as Level 1 and Level 2. In addition the Club can become a subordinate under the AAU’s Group exemption program, making the entity a tax-exempt organization. Level 3 Clubs are eligible to accept tax-exempt donations directly.

$60.00 - Youth Club Per Membership Year
$80.00 - Adult Club or Both Youth and Adult Club Per Membership Year
Level 2 is for clubs and has the same benefits a Level 1. In addition the Level 2 Club may host an AAU sanctioned event, other than practice, and may use the AAU name and trademarks for sanctioned events only.

$50.00 - Adult Club or Both Youth and Adult Club Per Membership Year
Level 1 is for clubs who wish to participate in AAU events, vote at the appropriate district meetings and receive a practice sanction. This level club will not be able to host an AAU sanctioned event. Level 1 Clubs may not use trademarks of the AAU except to say the club is a member of the AAU.
No Club may use the name AAU or any derivative thereof in its Club’s legal name.
Club Contacts must first purchase an individual membership BEFORE applying for a club membership.
Club Contact Steps:
Step 1: Purchase AAU non-athlete membership
After application has been approved, member will receive an email with an AAU membership ID.
Step 2: Purchase AAU club membership (must have AAU membership ID to complete this club application)
At the end of this process, you will receive your AAU club code.
Step 3: Instruct parents to purchase individual members for their athlete. Give your parents your AAU club code – the parents will then enter this code during the athlete application process.
Step 4: Print the Club’s Verification of Insurance to secure a practice facility.
There will be no refunds if the club has joined at another level.
